Hello fellow traders, The Idiot Trader here!
Yesterday was an unexpected day off from trading due to the heavy rains that caused massive traffic delays. By the time I finally made it home, it was almost the New York closing time, leaving me no opportunity to take any trades. Instead of feeling frustrated, I took the chance to review and revisit some of my older trading systems and reconnect with my mentor from my DAX trading days.
I’ve known my mentor and his trading system since 2014, and it’s reassuring to see that his system is still in use today. The Skype group war room that we used to rely on is still active every day, buzzing with activity and filled with valuable insights and strategies. It was like stepping back into a familiar and trusted environment.
During our discussions, I was introduced to the current system they are using now. It’s based on the previous version I knew but has been simplified, making it more user-friendly while retaining its effectiveness. I’m currently in the process of testing and observing the mechanics of this updated system to see how it fits with my trading style.
Today, I finally managed to trade during New York hours. Using a blend of my old and new knowledge, I executed a trade and achieved a modest gain of 0.36%. As my mentor always says, “My approach to successful trading involves taking small, consistent steps toward my goals each day. I believe in gradually building wealth rather than risking everything for quick gains.” It felt great to be back in the game, applying strategies that have evolved over time and reconnecting with a supportive trading community.
This experience reminded me of the importance of staying connected with mentors and continuously learning. Trading can be a solitary endeavor, but having a network and reliable systems can make all the difference. I’m excited to see how this simplified system can enhance my trading and look forward to sharing more insights and results with you.
Happy trading, The Idiot Trader
